PAULA GÓMEZ

Paula Gómez is a young flutist who also sings. She performs genres ranging from pop and boleros to the folklore of the Canary Islands, and she is a member of various groups on the island of Tenerife, such as Ua El Cabo, Banda Las Candelas de Candelaria, Banda Asociación Cultural Patronato “Amigos del Arte” of Güímar, the White Voices Choir of the Tenerife Conservatory, and Cájarajeste. She is also involved in projects with other voices from the archipelago, such as Voces de Navidad, El Cantar de las Flores, and Carmina Mundi. In addition, she has collaborated with groups and ensembles such as Abruncos, Herederos de Chasna, Af Isoque, the Tenerife Philharmonic Orchestra, the Fimucité Youth Orchestra, and numerous music bands from across the island.
Graduated from the Conservatorio Superior de Música de Canarias with a degree in transverse flute, she has received regional and international awards, including those from the International Bach Festival and the María Orán Chamber Music Award with Adassa Flutes, the group she belongs to. She also holds a master’s degree in the management of cultural, sports, and corporate events, as well as a diploma in community management from the Universitat Oberta de Catalunya, and music industry business management studies from UNIR. She has received training from prestigious flutists such as Jihoon Shin, Philippe Lesgourges, and Sebastian Jacot, and has obtained ABRSM (Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music) distinctions on six occasions throughout her career.
She has performed as a singer with the Banda Las Candelas de Candelaria during Canary Islands Day and March 8 celebrations, with AMC Princesa Yaiza de El Rosario at the Mano a Mano band gathering, with Banda Virgen de la Luz in their Christmas concert alongside Goro Yayo, and with AMA La Candelaria de Arafo in the show Rissonia, together with Abubukaka, among others. She has also participated as a member and soloist in performances with the Tenerife Symphony Orchestra, and has received numerous awards and honors in national choral competitions. She was a soloist in the 75th anniversary celebration of UD Las Palmas, performing with the Las Palmas Symphony Orchestra at the Alfredo Kraus Auditorium in Gran Canaria.
Venturing into the world of folklore, she has participated in regional programs such as Noche de Taifas, Tenderete, and various soloist gatherings. She has also shared the stage with notable Canarian artists such as Jádel, Candelaria González, Celso y Dolores Alberto, Benito Cabrera, Giancarlo Santelli, Yumara Luis, Andrea Rodríguez, José Manuel Ramos, Chago Melián, Besay Pérez, Aytamis Brito, and Gerónimo Rauch. Furthermore, she has recorded soundtracks under the Mediaset label, including “Atrapa la Bandera” and “Pasaje al Amanecer”.
