Her solo career has led her to perform as lead soprano in the zarzuela Una vieja with the Fundación Ópera de Lanzarote, to sing Mahler’s 4th Symphony at the 1st Aguere International Chamber Orchestra Festival, to participate in the 1st Zarzuela Studio of La Palma, and to appear in Fimucité XV and XVI under the batons of conductors Eimear Noone and Katarzyna Tomala-Jedynak, alongside the Sinfonietta of Krakow. She has also performed the role of Carlotta in The Phantom of the Opera.
She has sung a wide repertoire in venues and theatres across Spain, including the Ateneo de Madrid, the Auditorio de Tenerife, and the Teatro Leal de La Laguna. In February 2024, she debuted the role of Donna Anna in Mozart’s Don Giovanni at the Ópera Studio of Córdoba (COOL), Spain.
Winner of several awards such as Young Promise and Third Prize at the Valleseco International Zarzuela Competition, she has trained with renowned teachers including Carmen Acosta, Celso Albelo, Augusto Brito, Nancy Fabiola Herrera, and Nicola Beller Carbone, as well as répétiteurs such as Juan Francisco Parra, Mara Jaubert, Laurence Verna, and Aurelio Viribay.
The soprano from Tenerife, María Candelaria Hernández, holds a degree in Vocal Performance from the Conservatorio Superior de Música de Canarias. She is currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Solo Performance at the Centro Superior Katarina Gurska in Madrid, studying under Carmen Subrido and Manuel Burgueras.
